Ok, I said this blog was about my art but I took this photo a day or two ago (when I was inspired to paint the lily)...and just love the irony of all that snow on summertime furniture! Note: this was a color photo...there just wasn't any color!!
Ten inches of snow outside made me long for the colors of the tropics... however, my photos are all from a different lattitude... but inspired by the brightest, then using a little artistic license, I painted this lively image. If I can't go to Hawaii, I can bring Hawaii to me... Lily 1 8" x 10" pastel (1206)So exciting to start a New Year! And a new blog!!! The snow had finally stopped...I grabbed my camera and headed for the car. A small cabin in Clinton, Whidbey Island, Washington caught my attention and inspired this 16" x 20" acrylic. It was painted in the warmth of my studio, but I could still feel the damp cold of the bright high overcast and the new snow. Gone South, acrylic, 16 x 20 (1205) |
